On December 3, the General Office of the People's Government of Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, officially issued the "Notice on the '14th Five-Year' Plan for Science and Technology Innovation and Strategic Emerging Industry Development in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou."

The plan explicitly states:

Precision medicine. Focus is placed on advancing precision healthcare in areas such as oncology, the urinary system, the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, hematology, and eye diseases, among others. Strongly support the application of new technologies such as stem cell therapy, cancer immunotherapy, and gene therapy. Actively guide leading enterprises in gene technology, biotechnology, and other related fields—both domestic and international—to forge strategic partnerships with major Grade-III hospitals in the region, jointly establishing the South China Precision Treatment Center for comprehensive, precision-based healthcare services. We will attract cutting-edge technologies, state-of-the-art equipment, top-tier research talent, and expert technical teams from home and abroad, while advancing an integrated industry-academia-research collaboration platform and building a dedicated gene technology service center. Together, these efforts will help create a robust new healthcare infrastructure, fostering advancements in precision medicine across scientific research, technology transfer, clinical applications, workforce training, and the widespread adoption of gene technologies. Ultimately, this initiative will cultivate an extensive, highly capable network for demonstrating gene technology applications—serving Guangzhou as a regional hub while extending its influence throughout the Greater Bay Area, positioning itself as a premier destination for precision medicine and genetic testing services.
