In the nationwide battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, Li Zhenguo, a deputy to the National People's Congress and Chairman of Jiuzhitang Co., Ltd., has led his company to leverage its strengths and do everything possible, mobilizing resources across the entire pharmaceutical value chain—from manufacturing to distribution—in the fight against the virus.

The pharmacy right outside people’s doors serves as a vital gateway for residents to access personal protective products. During the epidemic prevention and control period, more than 300 chain pharmacies under Jiuzhitang remained open, offering health consultations and medication guidance to local residents. They also made every effort to ensure the availability of essential products needed for pandemic response, with select stores even arranging regular, free distribution of masks—totaling over 10,000 masks handed out to the community.
To support frontline efforts in fighting the epidemic, Jiuzhitang has taken two key actions: first, accelerating the resumption of production and operations to ensure a steady supply of medicines; second, donating funds and medical supplies to bolster the fight against the virus. Immediately after the outbreak, Jiuzhitang issued an urgent mobilization order across all its production facilities. By February 10, all bases had fully resumed work, working tirelessly to maintain robust pharmaceutical production and supply. In addition to supporting the "epidemic battle," Jiuzhitang donated essential items such as medicines, masks, and disinfectants to organizations including the Zhong Nanshan Medical Foundation, the Tianjin Red Cross Society, and the Hunan Red Cross Society—totaling over 2 million yuan worth of donations in both materials and financial contributions.
The positive role played by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in this epidemic response has firmly strengthened Representative Li Zhenguo’s confidence in leading Jiuzhitang to carry forward and develop the TCM cause. "TCM has proven effective in alleviating disease symptoms, improving recovery rates, reducing mortality, and accelerating physical rehabilitation among patients in the recovery phase—findings that have been clinically validated, truly inspiring everyone involved in TCM!" said Representative Li Zhenguo. He added that while China has now entered a new normal of epidemic prevention and control, the global situation remains severe.
