Kazakhstan National Medical Science Center
Founded under leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2002, Kazakhstan National Medical Science Center is a national comprehensive hospital and medical practices platform integrating healthcare, scientific research and teaching. The center is designated to provide physical examination and rehabilitation care targeted at astronauts, and is a government approved healthcare institution dedicated to stem cell treatments. It got approved by the European Quality Management Foundation (EFQM) in 2009, received a “5-star Excellence” certificate for healthcare institutions in 2012, and was selected as one of Europe’s best medical centers in 2012. Collaboration between Jiuzhitang Maker and Kazakhstan National Medical Science Center will benefit people suffering from cardiac problems and bring new options for Chinese patients seeking stem cell therapies.
In September 2018, the protocol of using Stemedica’s mesenchymal stem cells to treat acute myocardial infarction was approved by Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, which marked the official commercialization of stem cell therapy in Kazakhstan. This is the first approved stem cell treatment program in the five countries of Central Asia, which has profound demonstrative significance for future development of stem cell technologies in Central Asia and the Middle East.
